Thanks for visiting my site. I'd like to tell you a little about myself and the background of Creations From Paradise. I began beading jewelry as a hobby several years ago, which quickly became an obsession. The fulfillment and sense of accomplishment I discovered from exercising my creative nature is unparalleled! I found it particularly refreshing to use those right-brain skills after years in a career that called largely upon left-brain, logical and analytical thought.
When researching wire wrapping as an added technique to enhance my beaded creations, I discovered the world of wire sculptured jewelry, an ancient and unique concept of making jewelry from precious metal wire, shaped by hand using only hand tools without solder or glue. I've blended these techniques to create my own individual style.
My fascination with gemstones and love of the ocean have merged in a continually expanding ocean-inspired collection reminiscent of the colorful play of light on the water and sky at various times of day and under different atmospheric conditions.
Raised in the Midwest, I moved to South Florida to attend the University of Miami, where I earned a BA in music. Once I experienced living in a tropical paradise near the ocean, I never wanted to return to the world of snow and ice. My background in photography, framing of fine art, and as a musician since childhood and former music teacher helped me when I entered the business world, teaching computer skills in my career as a paralegal. I've also served as an officer of my local paralegal association for the past several years.
I am a member of the International Jewelry Designers Guild and charter member and Chairman of the Board of Directors of The International Guild of Wire Jewelry Artists, Inc.
I hope that you enjoy browsing through the jewelry art of Creations From Paradise.
